Elixr: J.FTF & Friends – Midweek Magic at The Goldmark

We’re still buzzing from another incredible night vending our art at Elixr: J.FTF & Friends, held at The Goldmark — the go-to bar in town for midweek magic. This monthly gathering, hosted every first Wednesday of the month, has quickly become one of our favorite places to post up, connect, and soak in the vibe.

You can always find us in the back by the arcade games, where the bass bounces off the walls and the energy never dips. This setup has become a little nook of creativity and connection — and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

What really makes Elixr special is the wave of new faces we get to meet every single time. It’s wild how this party just keeps growing. The community is expanding, the support is real, and the love at our table has been nothing short of heartwarming.

And let’s talk about the music — every DJ that hit the decks brought straight grooves from start to finish. The energy on the floor was infectious, and it never let up. Elixr really knows how to turn an ordinary Wednesday into something extraordinary.

We’re beyond grateful to be a part of this monthly tradition, and we seriously can’t wait to be back for the September edition. If you haven’t made it out to an Elixr party yet, do yourself a favor — swing by, catch a vibe, and come say hi.

Double Decker

Saturday, May 31, 2025: Hosted by Bass Buddies, Located at Squirrel Hill Sports Bar

Steel City Bass is your monthly injection of EDM and Bass Music. If you like Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Hard Techno, and Bass music as a whole, these are your nights to party in the Burgh. Come join us as we showcase the best Bass Heavy music.

Here we go again. This time around we are doing something a little different. We are having a style faceoff with the team captains hand picking their team to show the best of their style as well as the best DJ to represent that style. People will be able to vote for which style was best represented and crushed that night.

Team captains are your resident Steel City Bass DJs
@oostendubz representing Team Riddim and @auxidate representing Team Drum & Bass

As always the show is free but we do take monetary donations as well as equipment, used and new.

Come out and support your fav style as well as the local DJ's and their teams.

Double Decker: A Night of Art, Bass, and Community Vibes

Another unforgettable night in the books with Bass Buddies at their monthly event — this time for a show called Double Decker, hosted at none other than the Squirrel Hill Sports Bar.

We had the chance to sell our art again and, as always, the energy was nothing short of amazing. The crowd showed out, the bass was thumping, and the love in the room was undeniable. Huge shoutout to everyone who stopped by our table — your support means the world to us.

One of the best parts of these monthlies is seeing all the familiar faces who’ve been riding with us since the beginning. But what really got us hyped this time was seeing so many new faces taking over the dancefloor, bringing fresh energy and love into the space. This community just keeps growing, and we’re here for all of it.

We also want to give a big thank you to the entire Squirrel Hill Sports Bar staff — you all were absolutely incredible. From the bar to the floor, the vibes were on point all night long thanks to your hard work and welcoming energy.

Double Decker was another reminder of why we do what we do. The art, the bass, the people — this is our happy place.

We already can’t wait for the next one. Until then, keep the vibes high and the love louder.

With gratitude,

Fungi Fantasia

Yheti b2b Toadface

Friday, May 16th. Located at the Thunderbird. Hosted by Noiz Presents.

✨ A Very Cooked Sound quest: A Night to Remember ✨

Yheti:
http://www.soundcloud.com/yheti

Yheti has written and released over 150 tracks across the internet datasphere. A fusion of a thousand inspirations Yeti's live performances are self described as... "an ever morphing detailed sound sculpture that plays with the ears of those open to the more experimental, surreal, low end heavy side of electronic music. With the intention of creating a champion dance environment through innovative bass lines, interesting rhythms, and soul driven melodies."

Over the past 10yrs Yheti has performed at many major festivals, headlined many venues across North America, toured with many champions of sound and gained the support of a few low-key famous people. 2030 will be a huge year for Yheti, so look far into the future or very deep into the present, put your ear close up to reality, and you may hear the faint rumble of subwoofers in the distance. This is an exploration of sound, technology, psychology and how it all interacts with the complex human condition we all experience. Rooted in love for art and moving forward with gusto.

///////////////////

Toadface:
www.soundcloud.com/toadface

Championing his signature swampy sound since 2015, amphibious producer Toadface has made quite the splash in the dance music realm. The brainchild of Ohio native Todd Holler, the project quickly attracted the ears of listeners as a result of Todd's unique approach to production - one that effortlessly fuses elements of trap and dubstep together to create a sound that was unheard to fans of bass music at the time. A lifelong gamer, he drew inspiration from the imaginative landscapes of the virtual worlds he so often immersed himself in and harnessed those ideas in his creative output. Aside from gaming, he cites his older brother and fellow producer Yheti as his biggest inspiration and directly points to their tight knit relationship as a big reason his career has scaled to the point it's reached today.

Regardless of what else lies ahead for the future of the Toadface project, Todd says he'll continue to work hard to release music that fulfills his original mission: to allow his listeners to have fun. The ethos of the project is harnessed in one of his most popular tracks 'Serotonin Machinegun - a feeling he hopes to continuously recreate for his listeners with every new release. Some nights just hit different—and A Very Cooked Sound quest was definitely one of them.

This one was extra special because it was the debut event from two close friends who recently teamed up to form their own event company, and let me tell you… they did not miss. Held at the iconic Thunderbird in Lawrenceville, the energy of the space matched the energy of the night—pure magic. From start to finish, the staff at Thunderbird were incredible—welcoming, professional, and just as much a part of the vibe as the crowd on the dancefloor.

With Yheti b2b Toadface headlining, we knew we were in for something unforgettable—and they absolutely delivered. The sound was pristine, the lighting was mesmerizing, and the dancefloor was poppin’ all night long. Every bass drop brought the crowd closer, and the connection between the artists, the people, and the space was undeniable.

We were lucky enough to vend our art at the show, and the love we felt all night was unmatched. New faces came through, bringing their energy and curiosity, while familiar ones—our lil’ fairies!—cycled back like they never left. Every hug, every smile, every conversation at our table just reminded us how tight and magical this community really is. 🧚‍♀️

Our booth stayed lit all night long. Between all the support, laughter, and beautiful humans we got to connect with, we couldn’t have asked for a better space to share our work. We really felt like we crushed it—and so did the crew behind it all. Shoutout to Noiz Presents for throwing down so hard. To our friends who created this event: you’ve built something beautiful, and we can’t wait to see where you take it next. Thank you again for having us. We’ll be there every time—art in hand, heart wide open.

Art, Beats & Big Hearts at Sidequest 🎉🎨

This past weekend, we had the joy of vending our art at Sidequest for a birthday party that was so much more than just a celebration—it was a full-on community love fest.

The event was thrown by a good friend from way back, and instead of gifts or the usual party fare, he asked for something even better: donations to the Women’s Center and Shelter. And guess what? Y’all showed up in a huge way—$583 raised! That’s real impact. Huge love and respect to Bear, the one who made it all happen. This man constantly goes above and beyond for his friends and community, and this night was no exception.

The vibes? Immaculate.
The DJs? Crushed it.
The dance floor? Never empty.

We were vibing, jamming, and connecting with old friends and new faces alike. It’s the kind of night that reminds you why we do what we do—bringing art, energy, and love to the spaces that need it.

To everyone who stopped by our table and picked up something special—thank you. Your support fuels our creativity and keeps the momentum going. It means the world.

We’re hoping to team up with Bear again in the near future, so if you missed this one—don’t worry. Stay tuned, because more magic is definitely on the way.

With love and gratitude,

Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 7:45-2AM. Hosted by Bass Buddies. Located at the Squirrel Hill Sports Bar

Down the Rabbit Hole with Bass Buddies – A Night to Remember 🐇🎶

Last weekend, we took a wild trip Down the Rabbit Hole—and we’re still reeling from the energy, the chaos, and the unforgettable vibes.

Hosted by the amazing Bass Buddies and held at none other than the Squirrel Hill Sports Bar, this show was something else. For real, we killed it—especially considering the size of the crowd. The people who showed up came through with heart, hype, and hella love.

Themed shows are always our jam, and this one hit different. I got to dress up as the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, pocket watch and all, and let me tell you—playing a character while slinging art is a whole new level of fun. The outfits, the music, the community—it felt like we were really in a bass-fueled Wonderland.

We saw so many new faces, which always makes our hearts happy—but even better, the familiar ones keep showing back up, and that means the world to us. It’s the love and loyalty of this little art-meets-music universe that keeps us doing what we do.

Thank you all so much for being supportive!

Special shoutout to Barry, the owner of Squirrel Hill Sports Bar. That man is one-of-a-kind—supportive, kind, and just genuinely awesome. Thank you for always giving us a place to do our thing.

And then… midnight hit. It was Eric’s birthday, we were all celebrating, and BOOM—dead battery in the rental. Talk about a plot twist. Honestly? It was the kind of chaotic ending that makes the night even more unforgettable. Definitely a “laugh about it later” kind of moment. 😅

We’ll never forget this one. From start to finish, it was a wild ride—and we’re already counting the minutes until we get to do it again next month.

Thanks to everyone who came out, dressed up, danced, shopped, and celebrated. Y’all are the real magic.

🌀 Until next time—don’t be late. 🐇

Closet of Horrors: a Halfway to Halloween Costume Party

Friday April 25th, 2025. Hosted by Cloutfits at SideQuest on 44th from 9 - 2 AM.

Enjoy Pittsburghs own Electronic Dance Music Djs: Cloutfits, Naus, Battsy, & Copha and dress up with your squad for a night of bass and ghoulish costumes!

Halfway to Halloween at Sidequest – Spooky Season Came Early 👑🎃

Is it ever too early for Halloween? Absolutely not. This weekend we vended our art at the Halfway to Halloween party at Sidequest, and it was everything we hoped for—costumes, community, music, and a whole lotta love.

Personally, I’m a huge fan of themed parties—there’s just something about dressing up that brings out everyone’s most creative, playful side. I showed up as Cleopatra, posted up next to my King, and felt royally ready to party (and sell some art).

The music? Bumpin’. The vibes? Immaculate. People were dancing, laughing, and—most importantly—shopping. We had tons of familiar faces stop by the table, which always warms our hearts, and even a few new ones who took a chance and checked us out. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, we love all interactions, so never be shy—come say hi!

Huge thanks to Sidequest for always curating such fun, inclusive events. We love being part of these unique spaces where art, music, and personality all come together in the best way possible.

Can’t wait to see you all at the next one—costumes, good vibes, and all. 💀👑🖤

Art, Air, and Smash Burgers at Burghers Brewing 🍔🎨

We just wrapped up our first-ever outdoor vending experience at Burghers Brewing, and let’s just say—it was everything we needed.

The sun was out, the tunes were flowing, and the vibes were high. It was such a refreshing change of pace to be set up outside, surrounded by friends, fresh air, and a full spectrum of folks of all ages coming up to the table. We got to meet some amazing new faces, reconnect with familiar ones, and share our work with people from all walks of life. That’s what it’s all about.

One of the best parts? Being able to post up in such a welcoming, laid-back space where everyone felt comfortable exploring the art. It reminded us just how important community pop-ups like this really are.

And we have to talk about the food for a second—because those smash burgers at Burghers Brewing were to die for. No lie, that might’ve been one of the best things we’ve eaten all month. So glad we finally got to try one after hearing the hype—it 100% delivered.

Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Hosted by Sayounara x Cyberia. Located at the Goldmark from 10-2PM

Back Room Magic at The Goldmark: Midweek Mayhem & Art Vibes

Who says Wednesday nights are slow? Definitely not us—and definitely not The Goldmark.

Last night, we had the absolute honor of vending our art in the back room of this iconic spot, and let’s just say… we killed it. The room was buzzing from start to finish with incredible energy, curious eyes, and the kind of love that only Pittsburgh’s art scene can deliver. People showed up, showed out, and showed support—and we felt it.

🎶 The music? Unreal. The perfect blend of pulse and soul to carry the night. Huge shoutout to Cyberia and Sayounara for curating a soundscape that kept everyone vibing. Their sets brought the exact flavor we needed—futuristic, warm, and weird in the best way possible.

🎨 And can we talk about the live painter in the back? They were doing wild eyeball portraits that were somehow both psychedelic and deeply human. We couldn’t resist—we snagged one for ourselves, and it’s already hanging in the studio. (You ever see a painting that sees you? Yeah. That.)

We’re always grateful for spaces that celebrate the offbeat, the vibrant, the late-night magic. The Goldmark gave us all that and more.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported, talked, danced, bought art, or just soaked up the moment. We’ll be back in June, and we’re already scheming something even bigger.

Until then—stay weird, stay lit, and keep supporting local.

This past weekend, we had the absolute blast of vending our art at Nerd Out, a cosplay-themed rave at Squirrel Hill Sports Bar! Even with so much happening in Pittsburgh that night, the event popped off, proving once again that this community knows how to bring the energy.

We went all out for the theme, dressing up as Princess Peach and Mario, and it made the night even more fun! Seeing everyone in their creative, colorful, and downright impressive cosplays made for such an electric atmosphere—it wasn’t just a rave, it was an experience.

One of the best parts of the night was getting to hang with customers, both familiar faces and new ones. We love vending at these events not just because we get to share our art, but because we get to connect with so many awesome people who share a love for music, creativity, and community.

Funny enough, we didn’t realize it was a downstairs event until we had already set up upstairs. But honestly? It turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

The upstairs space became the perfect chill zone, giving people a chance to step away from the crowd, relax, and actually take their time exploring our art without being bumped into. The flow was ideal—people wandered up, grabbed a drink, and spent some quality time shopping and chatting with us.

One of the unexpected perks of being upstairs was the soothing music filtering through. With less bass pounding in our ears, we were able to listen and connect with our customers even better. It made for such an enjoyable, laid-back experience that felt personal and genuine.

Longturn Music welcomes everybody and has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, unwelcome physical contact, or any brand of bigoted behavior. If anyone at a Longturn event is making you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, or if you witness anything of the sort, we encourage you to speak with the door staff or our team members. We’ll believe you, and we’ll help.

In the era when America's Rust Belt got its name, factory workers labored on a 12-hour day or night shift for two weeks straight. To switch shifts, one group would have to work 24-hours straight and cover the labor gap. This grueling shift became known as the Longturn.

Longturn music was founded to give people with day jobs a space to spend their second shift. No bottle service, no passwords, just a dance floor filled with good people and good music.

Come early, stay late, dance hard

An Unforgettable Night with Longturn Music at Cobra 🎶🎨✨

This past weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of vending our art at Cobra, thanks to the amazing crew at Longturn Music—and what a night it was! We were set up in a small side room that turned out to be the perfect spot. It gave people a chance to step away from the dance floor, check out the art, and shop comfortably without missing a beat.

The crowd was nothing short of incredible. It was amazing to see so many wonderful people throughout the night—new faces, familiar friends, and just an all-around awesome vibe. We were beyond grateful for the bunch of custom requests we received from people wanting unique, handmade gifts for their loved ones. It means the world to us when people trust our art to be a part of their special moments.

A massive shoutout to the legend at the beginning of the night who bought $140 worth of earrings with the sole purpose of passing them out at Lost LandsYOU ROCK! 💥 That kind of generosity and support absolutely blew us away. We can’t wait to see our art making its way through the festival crowd!

We can’t wait to be back for the next one—bringing more art, more creativity, and sharing more unforgettable moments with all of you.

Thank you for the love and support! 💫🔥💖

DJ Susan Crowd

Dance music culture is built on the values of love, acceptance, and inclusivity, and throughout the culture’s evolution, there have been leaders who embody those values through their music.

In the scene today, DJ Susan is one of those leaders, and his charting release catalog, his celebrated DJ sets, and his champion record label, Hood Politics Records, all stem from his own mission to lift up the scene and the people in it.

The common denominator among his releases remains a fiery sense of high energy that encourages people to connect on the dancefloor. Whether the track is raw and bassline-driven or a smoother vocal cut, the feeling is uplifting and just plain fun.

That feeling has led Glathe to land several charting releases including “TALKIN” which peaked at number one on the Beatport Bass House chart and “Secrets” hitting number one on the Tech
House Hype chart. The same success is apparent amongst his overall catalog with offerings on impressive labels including Spinnin’ Records and Repopulate Mars with legends of the craft like Claude VonStroke and Calvin Harris rinsing his tracks to some of the largest audiences in the world.

Glathe’s philanthropic approach to house music culminates in his self-run grassroots record label, Hood Politics Records. He set out to be the label he didn’t get to connect with when he was coming up. A label that will welcome artists into a strong and supportive family, where the goal is nothing more than giving a platform for great music regardless of clout or connections.

True leaders don’t care for clout and connections. They care about love, acceptance, and inclusivity. True leaders built dance music culture, and DJ Susan is building something big.

Glathe has curated over 150 releases since launching the label in 2017, welcoming established artists like John Summit, Max Styler, and Vanilla Ace to the roster along with a squad of exciting newcomers from all over the world like LA’s BINGEWATCH and the UK’s Brad Wood.

DJ Susan’s momentum is building everywhere you look—between his performances at Coachella, Splash House, Day Trip and ADE, his slots supporting huge artists like DJ Snake, Porter Robinson, Tchami, Malaa, Wuki and SIDEPIECE, and his recent signing to Patrick Moxey’s Helix Records. The future for DJ Susan is looking very, very bright.

The setup for the night

Friday Night at Cobra: Art, Bass, and Unforgettable Vibes

This past Friday night at Cobra was nothing short of incredible! We were honored when Bassburgh and Sayounara invited us to vend our art at the event—and let me tell you, we absolutely killed it! The energy was off the charts, the crowd was amazing, and the whole night was filled with good vibes and creativity.

We shared a cozy space with a talented live painter, and together, we truly brought the room to life. There’s something magical about blending art and music, creating an immersive experience where people can vibe out to the beats while connecting with local creatives.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by—whether you bought something, shared kind words, or just came to say hi. Your support means the world, and it’s moments like those that remind us why we love doing what we do.

Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without the incredible DJs who kept the energy flowing and the Cobra staff, who were so helpful and easy to work with all night long. Special shoutouts to Chris Stankey and Alexa Leonard—two absolutely amazing people whose dedication and positivity never go unnoticed. Working with them is always a pleasure, and we’re beyond grateful for the opportunity.

Elixr at The Goldmark: A Night of Art, Music, and Community

This past Wednesday marked the grand opening of Elixr at its stunning new venue—The Goldmark—and what a night it was! This spacious, vibrant location proved to be the perfect setting for a night filled with creativity, connection, and pure magic.

Our Fungi display for the night

I had the honor of setting up my vendor table in the backroom, where I showcased my handcrafted art. But what truly brought the space to life was the incredible transformation that Maddy Swiger and I pulled off. Together, we curated the cutest, most inviting display while she live-painted, adding a dynamic and immersive element to the experience. The energy in the room was electric, and seeing people engage with our work in such an intimate setting was nothing short of inspiring.

Backroom setup of our table for the night.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of some truly amazing people. Alexa Leonard and Brett Mullen—two of the most supportive, creative, and downright wonderful individuals—helped make this event an absolute success. Their passion and effort in bringing Elixr to life at The Goldmark are evident in every detail, and I couldn’t be more grateful to call them friends.

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT: Sunglasses and Wirewrap ring

The best part? This is just the beginning! Elixr will be returning every first Wednesday of the month, and I can’t wait to be back, surrounded by such an inspiring community. If opening night was any indication of what’s to come, then we are in for an incredible ride.

If you missed it this time, make sure to mark your calendar—The Goldmark is the place to be. See you next month!💫✨
